Practice Areas - Credit Union Law
The Trimmier Law Firm has dedicated its practice to the representation of credit unions across the Southeast. The Firm works daily with credit unions and other financial institutions, and other clients serving that industry, providing advice and counsel as operational issues arise. The firm serves as General Counsel for more credit unions than any other firm in the country. The firm’s relationship with the Alabama Credit Union League and Birmingham credit unions created expansion of the Firm to cities throughout the Southeast to better serve clients’ needs. The representation of the Florida Credit Union League again expanded the Firm into the state of Florida. Since 1997, the Firm has expanded its services to Louisiana credit unions affiliated with the Louisiana Credit Union League. Members of the Firm have represented credit unions since 1971.
The Firm's Corporate Legal Services Program provides comprehensive services for more than 100 credit unions and their members. The Program offers credit unions the same array of legal services that large bank holding companies provide to their members. Services include: annual Compliance Audits and Legal Reviews, attorney-on-duty services offering unlimited telephone consultation, on-demand advice and decisions, monthly and quarterly newsletters, design of new programs and financial products and adversarial proceedings. The Firm also conducts loan closings and will projects for credit union members.
Because the Firm deals with credit union management on an everyday basis, our attorneys have come to understand the importance of operational considerations. Too often, attorneys view legal matters with tunnel vision and fail to understand the importance of practical and marketable forms and procedures. The Firm aslo provides Bankruptcy, Foreclosure and Creditor's rights to a wide area of clients.
In today's volatile marketplace, credit unions must utilize every available means to strengthen and secure operations. Quality legal services are the cornerstone for a secure future.
The Firm has seven attorneys who work primarily with credit union operational and regulatory matters. By scheduling our "in office" time, we are able to have a knowledgeable credit union attorney actually available during ALL business hours.
